O-F-F.SITE METHODOLOGY
Are you ready?
DIY : Let's get started.
REALITY CHECK
Is it going to work for you?
This website contains enough information to discover the Methodology. If you haven't yet, see the following resources:

FEEDBACK WANTED: Is it clear? Does it make sense? What additional information would you need at this stage? Let us know here. We will answer personally so you benefit from the interaction too.

In order to identify whether this is going to work for you:

  • Will the Team enjoy a new kind of offsite? (vs "typical offsites")
  • Does the Team aspire for more? Do they strive for Level 10 individually (i), as a group (we), and as a mission/project (it)? The pursuit of Excellence is compelling.
  • Will the Team enjoy co-creating the offsite? (vs "consuming it")
  • Can/Will they make time for this co-creation?
  • Can you already think of team members for the 5 core roles?
  • Will the Team (especially these 5) enjoy a Methodology? (vs "winging it")

The more "yes" you get, the better fit there is.
TRUST = SPEED
Do you trust us?
Nothing personal.

To go fast, you want to embrace the Methodology and use the assets out of the box. Trust will enable that speed. Without trust, instead of using the assets, you will be checking whether they're good or not.

In paid projects, we build trust through collaboration, the Methodology is secondary. Former clients refer us, and we prove ourselves at each step.

In a DIY project, you need to build that trust through what is available online. We have not done much work to promote this Methodology (and we do not aim to) so you might be on the fence. Let us know here what would help build that trust.

We recommend one person in the Team (the Content Lead or Project Lead is probably best suited for it) audits the Methodology and backs it up afterward so that Trust is built internally.
ACTUALLY BETTER
Are you excited about co-creating?
When Teams use this Methodology as DIY instead of engaging with us, the reason tends to be Budget.

So co-creation is usually not chosen, it is the consequence of a cost-sensitive choice.

It is paramount that the Team embraces "co-creation" beyond "cost savings" and values it at its rightful level. Here are elements to help with that:

  • Who knows best what the Team needs? The Team Members. Someone external can come and ask them to deliver, but why not skip a few steps in the process?
  • Leverage the IKEA effect, a cognitive bias in which consumers place a disproportionately high value on products they partially created.
  • Get Team Members to be Speakers because the best way to learn is to teach. Seneca was the first to say it on record: “While we teach, we learn”
  • The offsite, as a co-creation, offers learning opportunities: one can develop as a project manager, a speaker, a Master of Ceremony...
  • Need more reasons?
Cool. Let's go.
